My first attempt at 'blogging'
Mood:  not sure
Topic: What is first?
Well, here goes my first attempt at a blog. My mother has told me repeatedly that I am a good writer. I am not so sure. I do know how to ramble. I have had a couple other people tell me that they enjoy my writings. I must still be naive because I don't see it. So, with this in mind and knowing that we are usually perfect in our mother's eye, I will try to keep somewhat of a journal. I seriously doubt I will write daily, but if I can at least write once or twice each week, I will. I can only hope that through honest and truthful writing, I may write something that may be of interest to someone besides Mother.

The winter holiday is over and things will probably begin to get back to normal at work and around the countryside. There were many rural homes decorated with lights and scenes. However, there were not nearly as many as what I seem to remember in yrears past which is okay with me since I don't observe or recognize it as a holiday. The holiday word, to me is a bastardization of the title of our Lord and Savior.

It seems as though the entire "Christian" world has everything backward. Chrisitanity is built on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, yet the emphasis in the world is placed on His birth more than on his death. We know the year, the day, and the very hour that Jesus died on the cross. But, we don't know the hour, the day, the month, or even the year of His birth. If we were meant to observe His birth as a holy day (holiday), then the apostles would certainly have preserved the year, day and very hour of his birth. All we know of His birth is that He was born sometime before Herod died in 4 B.C. So, He had to have been born in 6 or 5 B.C.

Sorry about the soap box. You may call me a Scrooge if you wish, but I had just as soon be honest about my feelings. Hopefully, this will not turn off anyone from reading my later postings.

I guess I need to stop for today as it is already past my 9 pm bedtime.

Until the next entry......goodnight.....
